The Meath facilities at Como are located next to the picturesque Collier Park Golf Course in Henley Street, Como.  The facilities at Como include Meath Care Como, an aged care facility, a day centre and a retirement village.

Meath Care Como
Meath Care Como is a 64 bed aged care facility.  The facility offers low residential care and secure accommodation for residents with dementia.  There are also 2 rooms available for respite care (short term stays). 

The facility provides supported living in a secure, caring environment and has the following features:

• Each resident has a spacious single room with ensuite and television;
• Telephone access is available and, Foxtel can be arranged, subject to availability;
• Dietary needs catered for and all meals cooked on site;
• Access to a registered nurse 24 hours a day;
• Nurse call system and staff available 24 hours a day to provide assistance with activities of daily living;
• Access to medical practitioners and allied health professionals – eg. occupational therapist, physiotherapist;
• Extensive activity and leisure program offered for those who wish to participate in activities;
• All laundry services completed on site;
• Access to hairdressing and podiatry services.

Como Retirement Village
The Como Retirement Village comprises 82 villas in a secure, well maintained environment.  All 82 villas are made available on a Lease for Life basis.

Telephone and access to a 24 hour emergency call facility is available.  

Village residents also have access to a communal clubhouse which features:

• Lounge area with television;
• Swimming pool and spa; and,
• BBQ area.

Como Day Centre
The Como Day Centre provides a range of activities including: outings, craft activities, guest speakers, discussion groups, games, gentle physical exercise and morning teas. 

Each Wednesday there is a specific program for clients with Dementia, which can offer short term respite for carers with staff who are skilled in the provision of dementia care and provide a range of activities.

Transport to and from home and on outings is provided by a custom designed, air conditioned bus fitted with a hoist for easier access.  Fees for participating in Day Centre activities are available on request. 

The Como Day Centre is funded by Home and Community Care (HACC).  Eligibility to participate in HACC activities is assessed on an individual basis prior to commencement.

Sensory Garden
The Day Centre includes a Sensory Garden, which is a peaceful place for relaxation and privacy. The garden has significant therapeautic value to those with Dementia having been designed to stimulate sensory sensations across all five senses and aid in triggering memories. The landscaped garden includes a water feature, a vegetable garden and secure entry.

Atrium
The Atrium is a central area which is available for use by Residents, their families and staff to hold meetings or just have a coffee.  The area is able to be used year round thanks to a Lotterywest grant approved for the installation of reverse cycle airconditioning.
