The Como Day Centre provides a range of activities including: outings, general craft, guest speakers, discussion groups, games, gentle physical exercise and morning teas. 

Each Wednesday there is a specific program for clients with Dementia, which can offer short term respite for carers with staff who are skilled in the provision of dementia care and provide a range of activities.

Transport to and from home and on outings is provided by a custom designed, air conditioned bus fitted with a hoist for easier access.  Fees for participating in Day Centre activities are available on request. 

The centre facilitates a carer's support group monthly to provide assistance and information for those caring for people with dementia related conditions.

The Como Day Centre is funded by Home and Community Care (HACC).  Eligibility to participate in HACC activities is assessed on an individual basis prior to commencement.

Sensory Garden

The Day Centre includes a Sensory Garden, which is a peaceful place for relaxation and privacy. The garden has significant therapeautic value to those with Dementia having been designed to stimulate sensory sensations across all five senses and aid in triggering memories. The landscaped garden includes a water feature, a vegetable garden and secure entry.
